Water Reuse
Identify practical conservation opportunities through water balance audits, rinse and condensate recovery, CIP water reuse, cooling tower optimization, RO concentrate recovery, and closed-loop system planning.
Hixson helps Northern Ohio manufacturers, laboratories, and regulated facilities design water systems that reduce consumption, recover value, and support long-term sustainability goals. From Lake Erie watershed considerations to industrial utility demands, our integrated engineering teams connect water reuse, wastewater, process utilities, controls, and compliance planning into practical designs built for resilient operations.

Integrated water, wastewater, utility, and sustainability engineering for efficient, compliant facility operations.
Identify practical conservation opportunities through water balance audits, rinse and condensate recovery, CIP water reuse, cooling tower optimization, RO concentrate recovery, and closed-loop system planning.
Design pretreatment and treatment systems for industry-specific waste streams, including equalization, DAF, biological treatment, sludge handling, permitting coordination, and POTW discharge compliance.
Coordinate plumbing, process water, hot water, sanitary drainage, process drainage, and utility infrastructure to support efficient manufacturing, laboratory, food, beverage, and cGMP operations.
Engineer clean-in-place and sanitation systems with efficient skid sizing, chemical supply, water reuse strategies, drain design, automation integration, and validation-ready documentation.
Align water reduction, LEED strategies, GHG reduction, and operational resilience goals with practical facility audits, ROI-focused recommendations, and full architecture-engineering execution.
Address wastewater discharge, stormwater, air, hazardous materials, and EH&S compliance requirements during design so projects avoid costly late-stage revisions and retrofit risk.

We begin with operating data, site utilities, production needs, and discharge requirements to establish a clear water balance. For Northern Ohio facilities, we also consider seasonal utility loads and watershed-sensitive discharge expectations early in planning.
